Service Description
Kriya Yoga: Kriya Yoga, also referred to as Himalayan Yoga and Breathwork, is a sacred, ancient practice that, as with Reiki, has existed for thousands of years. "Kriya", meaning action, "yoga" meaning union, Kriya brings you back to your true Self, liberating you from limitations, freeing you of the ego mind, and healing down to a cellular level. Through the power of breath and life force, "prana" (energy), spiritual growth is also attained, through awakening the prana in the body. It is a very powerful, beautiful and transformative practice. Modern day science is now catching up with these sacred practices, validating what the Yogis already knew: - it heals conditions - lowers cortisol levels - neutralises the pH levels in the body - decreases blood pressure - decreases heart rate - decreases inflammation - increases vitality, radiance - rewires the brain (neuroplasticity) - improves immune function and immunity - positive effects on cellular aging markers - positive effects telomere preservation and repair - positive effects on epigenetic expression By combining breathwork, movement, mantra and mudra in specific ways, measurable and lasting positive changes in the brain, nervous system, whole body, and electromagnetic field, are created. Quite simply, conscious breath is a frequency, information. Every Kriya practice teaches the body safety, coherence and regulation. According to Yogananda, who brought Kriya Yoga to the West, one Kriya, which takes about a half-minute, is equivalent to one year of natural spiritual growth. It can only be taught by those who have been initiated into Kriya. As Yogananda wrote in his book, Autobiography of a Yogi, “Because of certain ancient yogic injunctions, I cannot give a full explanation of Kriya Yoga in the pages of a book intended for the general public. The actual technique must be learned from a Kriyaban or Kriya Yogi; here a broad reference must suffice”, Ananda.org.
