Fire, Water & Curtains...

Updated: Mar 31

Who knew there are lessons to be learnt from the mix of these 3!

Hey Lovelies...

Hope you are hanging in this teasing springtime so far :)

So....my daughter LOVES the Avatar movies and we've had many conversations recently about what is more powerful, fire or water (if you haven't seen the movies, you will still be able to keep up, I promise)

She is convinced that fire beats everything.

I tell her that fire is only ever temporary and water has an eternal life cycle...much like us. And also, water puts out fire....duh... but still she thinks fire is more cool and I get it and I have bigger battles to fight :)

So lets look at it metaphorically, we ARE water, earth and air. All of the things that can extinguish fire. We will always come into contact with fire and feel the burn of it as things break, disappear or change. But we can remember that with every fire we face, we can let it clear the space it came to and grow stronger from it. Just like those martial arts dudes who purposefully fracture their shin bones so they grow back harder. Yeah those cool as guys.

So this weeks top tip is to remember that with every challenge, comes an opportunity for remembering that we are made of stronger stuff that it. Each time we face difficulty and adapt, we grow...stronger.

So where do the curtains come in?? Well if you have visited the studio, during your relaxations you may have noticed a little traffic noise or a passer by. All normal things being located on a highstreet. Now, I LOVE the studio and honestly, I doubt anyone is really bothered but because I'm the owner, I am bothered because my brain creates stories that other people are. SO much so that I have just invested in eye wateringly expensive sound proof curtains to go across the entire studio frontage. Hurrah! So excited about these.

But it made me think, we are always trying to change our external circumstances to find peace, but true peace comes from within.

Anyone can be peaceful sat on a mountain, peace of cake (spelling mistake intended) but if you can find peace amongst the noise, THAT is true mastery, because life IS noisy.

So now when I experience noise in my peace, I just notice it. I don't judge it anymore. Infact, I smile because I am experiencing the peace of myself amongst the noise. To find calm in a storm, that my beautiful ones, is the proper stuff.

So I will leave you now to check out the many amazing classes and events at the studio at www.stillpointstudio.co.uk to help you find this peace.

Until next week, peace out xx

All of my love, Lianne xx
